Chad Hatmaker recently spoke with WBIR News regarding policies set by companies for acceptable employee use of social media. Mr. Hatmaker, who practices employment law, says company social media policies are legal, and they are becoming common agreements between employers and employees.

“Employers really need to have it in writing because what that does is it makes it clear to employees what is expected of them,” Hatmaker said. “It makes it clear to employees you can’t use social media to do things that you couldn’t otherwise do.”
