Primary Practice Areas
Paul Shuman is an associate in the firm whose practice is primarily in the areas of federal, state and local tax planning and controversies, including federal income, estate and gift tax controversies, as well as state and local tax matters. In addition, Mr. Shuman advises clients on the federal and state tax consequences of business formations and choice of entity, mergers, acquisitions, and business succession planning. Mr. Shuman also drafts wills, trusts and other documents to assist clients in their estate planning and asset protection.
Mr. Shuman, a native of Amarillo, Texas, graduated cum laude from the University of Texas at Austin, in 1987. After a successful career in business, Mr. Shuman returned to law school at Georgia State University where he received his law degree in 2014. In 2015, Mr. Shuman obtained his LL.M. degree in Taxation at the University of Florida.
Mr. Shuman is licensed to practice law in Tennessee, Georgia and Florida.
