Kevin N. Perkey is a member of the firm whose practice focuses on tax planning, mergers and acquisitions, business entity formation, business succession planning, general corporate and transactional law, and estate planning.
Mr. Perkey advises clients regarding the tax consequences of all types of business transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, stock sales, asset sales, choice of entity decisions, business formation and operation, and like-kind exchanges, as well as personal tax matters including estate planning.
In addition to his tax practice, Mr. Perkey maintains a general business practice which involves assisting clients with a variety of day-to-day business matters, including contract negotiation and drafting, mergers, acquisitions, sale of business transactions, joint ventures, entity formation, and dissolution.
Mr. Perkey was born and raised in Knoxville, Tennessee. He graduated magna cum laude from Carson-Newman College in 1997 with a B.S. in accounting. Mr. Perkey obtained his J.D., with highest honors, from The University of Tennessee College of Law in 2000. While at the College of Law, Mr. Perkey was named to the Order of the Coif and served as a Staff Editor for The Tennessee Law Review, as well as Editor of articles and essays for Transactions: The Tennessee Journal of Business Law. Following his graduation from law school, Mr. Perkey obtained his LL.M. in taxation from the University of Florida in 2001 where he served as a Graduate Editor of the Florida Tax Review. Mr. Perkey is a member of the Knoxville, Tennessee, and American Bar Associations.
Mr. Perkey serves as chair of the School Board of Grace Christian Academy. He is a Past President and serves on the Board of Directors of the Boys and Girls Club of the Smoky Mountains.
