Ms. Carr is a native of Dickson, Tennessee. She graduated cum laude from Vanderbilt University in 2007 with a B.S. in psychology. She earned her J.D. from The University of Tennessee College of Law in 2010. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Carr was in private practice with another Knoxville firm where she practiced in the area of disability law.

Ms. Carr was admitted to practice law in Tennessee state courts in 2010. She is a member of the Knoxville Bar Association, the Tennessee Bar Association, and the Federal Bar Association.
